標高370ｍの高台にある奈良県最大の天然湖です。森に囲まれた年中水位の変わらない神秘の池で、周囲には約１kmの周遊歩道や、1300年余前に役行者が神気に打たれて祠を建てたのが起源とされる池神社があります。
This is the largest natural lake in Nara Prefecture at an altitude of 370ｍ. The water level of this mystical pond surrounded by forest does not change throughout the year. There is an about 1km-long walk around the pond, and the Ike Shrine, whose origin is said to be a small shrine built by En-no-gyoja touched by the energy here more than 1300 years ago.
